LONG ISLAND SCHOLARS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit which supports motivated, under-resourced public high school students in Nassau, Suffolk, Kings, and Queens counties in New York in their efforts to access educational and career opportunities. We help our Scholars discover strengths, develop skills, pursue meaningful extracurricular activities, compete for jobs and internships, and apply for college admissions.

 

Our free, individualized consulting and college preparatory programs are available by application to public school students who meet academic and income requirements.

Many of LONG ISLAND SCHOLARS' programs are offered in partnership with GPS ACADEMY Great Neck, a private global educational consulting and college preparatory firm for which LONG ISLAND SCHOLARS' co-founder, Dr. Shawn Marie Garrett, serves as Director of Educational Consulting.
