Now that school has started and we have all settled into the rhythms of the fall semester (more or less) we at Long Island Scholars are thrilled to announce our inaugural year opportunities.
Starting today, we'll be accepting applications on a rolling basis from Nassau and Suffolk County public high school juniors and seniors with demonstrated financial need for our Long Island Scholarship program. Accepted students will receive up to 50 hours of free Educational Consulting services, including: Self-Evaluation in partnership with YouScience; Strategic Academic and Activities Planning; Strategic Standardized Test Preparation; a 3-day College Application Bootcamp in August, 2020; Application Review; Essay and Supplement Editing; and Financial Aid and Scholarship Consulting.

We strongly encourage everyone who attended (or wanted to attend) our College Essay Workshop in May to apply to become a Long Island Scholar and to spread the word about this unusual opportunity among public high school juniors and seniors in the region who can't afford private educational consulting.
Having spent my career in elite private education as first as a student, later as a Professor and adviser, I have seen first-hand (and helped provide) the intensive support and mentorship that kids with plentiful resources and access are afforded in academic and admissions processes. I can't wait to support our first cohort of accepted Long Island Scholars!
